- 洗面器に精油とお湯を入れます。
- 洗面器を覆うようにバスタオルを被り、顔を水面から15cm位に近づけます。
- 肺の奥まで息を吸い込むように大きく呼吸し、3～5分蒸気を吸入します。
精油を使う際は、精油成分が目に刺激となるので、目を閉じてください。
咳がひどい時には蒸気が刺激となり咳き込むことがあるので、行わないでください。
アロマスチームを行った後のお湯をお風呂に入れると、入浴剤として活用できます。
熱があるときの精油
ペパーミント、ユーカリ
おでこに冷タオルをすることで熱を下げる効果はないようですが、おでこを冷やすと気持ちが良いですよね。
冷タオルにペパーミントやユーカリの香りを付けると冷感や鼻つまり解消にも期待できます。
風邪で頭痛を伴うときの精油
ラベンダー
風邪で頭痛を伴うときは、洗面器に熱いお湯とタオルを入れ、リラックス＆鎮痛効果の高いラベンダー精油を２～３滴たらします。
タオルを取り出してしっかり絞ったら、こめかみや後頭部にあてましょう。
手作りの塗り薬を作る
風邪をひいてしまったら、下記のレシピで手作りの“塗り薬”を作ってみましょう。市販のヴィックス・ヴェポラッブを塗る要領で、1日3～5回、のどや胸を軽くマッサージして塗布します。
