愛犬とお出かけしたくなりますね。
そうなると気になるのが虫です。
そろそろケアをはじめてくださいね。
人用のものをワンちゃんに使うと大変！
お出かけも人用と愛犬用と2つ持って出かけると荷物にもなります。
そこで人も犬も一緒に使えるスプレーがあると便利だと思いませんか？

虫除けスプレーを作ってみよう
市販の薬剤系の人用虫除けスプレーは、犬に使うことはできません。
人用の精油（エッセンシャルオイル）で作ったものも希釈濃度が違うために犬に使用するのは危険です。
猫は精油は危険なので、ハーブウォーターを使うようにしてください。
犬に合わせて精油を控えめに作れば、一緒に使えるスプレーになります。
虫除けにおすすめな精油
蚊：ユーカリシトリオドラ、ソトロネラ、ペパーミント、ゼラニウム、レモングラス、レモンユーカリ、ラベンダー、ヒノキ
ノミ：ユーカリラジアータ、ペパーミント
ダニ：ゼラニウム、ミルラ、ローズウッド、ユーカリプタスグロブルス、ラベンダー、レモンユーカリ、ヒノキ
アリ：ペパーミント
ハエ類：クローブ
ゴキブリ：ユーカリプタス
アブラムシ：シダーウッド
透明な木酢液も虫除け効果や蚊にさされたあとのケアにおすすめです。

柑橘系やミントの香りが苦手な犬も多いので、愛犬の様子を見て精油を選んでください。
スプレーの際の「シュ！」という音がどうしても嫌い！という犬もいます。
虫除けスプレーの作り方
- 精製水 30ml
- お好みの精油 １滴
上の2つをスプレーボトルに入れる
※落ちる１滴の量：0.05mlで計算
犬に直接触れるものですので100％天然の精油を使用しましょう。
希釈濃度は0.25％以下（通常人間用が1％ですので、1/4になります）
最初は、0.1％くらいの濃度の低いものから徐々に慣れさせていきます。
作った後は、早めに使い切るようにしてください。
猫には精油はNGなのでフローラルウォーターを使ってください。
犬にアロマテラピーを行うときの注意点
ワンちゃんの肌に直接触れるものですので100％天然の精油を使用しましょう。
希釈濃度は0.25％以下（通常人間用が1％ですので、1/4になります）
最初は、0.1％くらいの濃度の低いものから徐々に慣れさせていきます。
ただし次のような拒否反応が出た場合は、直ちに使用をやめ換気をしましょう。
・過度によだれを垂らす
・うろうろ歩きまわる
・くしゃみ、鼻息が荒い
・体を床に擦りつけたり、狂ったように転がる
子犬に使用するときは？
生後6ヶ月以内の子犬には、おすすめできません。
抵抗力が弱く、体重も少ないので精油の影響を受けやすいためです。
高齢犬に使用するときは？
高齢犬は子犬と同様に香りに反応しやすい場合がありますので、濃度の低いもので反応を見ながら使用するようにしましょう。
てんかんを持っている犬には、てんかん発作を起こしやすい精油「ローズマリー」などは使用しないでください。
心臓病に関しても、禁忌の精油がありますので注意が必要です。
妊娠中の場合
妊娠中は敏感な体質になりますので、原則として避けるようにしましょう。
精油ではなく、ハーブやフラワーウォーターなどをおすすめします。
虫除けスプレーをしているからといって・・・
虫除けスプレーをしているからといって、それで100％刺されないわけではないですね。
蚊に刺されるとフィラリアという恐ろしい病気になることもあります。
蚊に殺されないために予防薬の内服が推奨されています。
薬を飲ませるのは抵抗あるかたもいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、命を守るためです。
ノミ・マダニのお薬を飲んでいても（つけていても）
マダニがペットの毛にくっついてしまうことは起こります。
刺されても大丈夫な免疫力を強化
我が家の愛犬は、透明な木酢液で虫除け対策をしていましたが、
ノミもダニも連れて帰ってしまうこともありました。
多分、いや絶対刺されていると思うのですが、
よく言われる感染症になったことはありませんでした。
それはきっと食事で免疫力が強かったからだと思っています。
刺されないようにするのも必要ですが、かかっても負けない身体作りも大事ですよ！

精油の取り扱い方
原液を肌に塗らない
精油は直接肌に塗らないように。
必ず希釈してから使用します。誤って皮膚に直接ついてしまったら、すぐに水で洗い流してください。
飲用しない
精油を服用、飲用しないように注意しましょう。
犬がなめないように気をつけれください。
また目にも入らないように注意が必要です。
火気に注意
精油は引火の恐れがあります。
火気にも注意しましょう。
精油を使うときの注意点
感作に注意
今まで使用して問題がなかった精油でも、急にアレルギー症状を引き起こすことがあります。これを感作といいます。
このような症状が現れた場合は、直ちに使用を中止し様子をみましょう。
同じ種類を使い続けない
同じ種類の精油を使い続けると、ある日突然アレルギー症状を起こしたり、皮膚炎を起こすことがあります。
1週間続けて使ったら2日休んだり、同じ目的の別のオイル（例えばリラックス効果のあるラベンダーを同じ効果のあるスイートオレンジに変えるなど）にしましょう。
キャリアオイルは1種類でなく数種類混ぜるのもおすすめです。
光毒性に注意
精油によっては塗布した状態で、日光などの紫外線に当たると皮膚炎を起こす場合があります。これを光毒性といい、レモン、グレープフルーツなど主に柑橘系のアロマに含まれています。
パッチテストを行う
皮膚の弱い犬や、初めて使用する精油はパッチテストをするのがおすすめです。
植物オイル（ホホバ油など）に精油を加えて希釈濃度0.25％以下にしたものを、皮膚の柔らかい部分に微量塗って1～2日放置し皮膚に炎症が起こらないかを確認します。
※40mlの植物オイルに2滴以下
アロマの薬効成分は３時間で切れるので、こまめにスプレーやバンダナに添付する。
保存方法
- 直射日光や高温多湿をさけ、冷暗所で保存
- 精油の瓶はしっかりと蓋を閉め、犬の手が届かないところに保管
- 肌につける場合の精油の使用期限は柑橘系で開封後6ヶ月、それ以外は1年が目安
