- 猫が安心できる安全な場所を用意しよう
- トイレ、食器、水飲み器、爪とぎ用具、おもちゃ、ベッドやくつろげる場所を複数用意して、それぞれ離して設置しよう
- 遊ぶ機会を増やそう
- 猫のペースに尊重した有効な信頼関係を築こう
- 家の中のニオイを配慮しよう
1. 猫が安心できる安全な場所を用意しよう
- 猫が好きなときに隠れられる場所も用意
- キャットタワーや棚などの高さのある場所も必要
- 扉を開けたキャリーバックを部屋に置いておき、キャリーバックに入ることに慣れさせる
- 複数頭飼育の場合は、強い猫が他の猫の通り道を邪魔するなどの意地悪をしていないか気をつけ、弱い猫が誰にも邪魔されずに安心できる場所にたどりつける経路を、いくつか確保する
猫は、１匹になりたいこともあるので暗くて狭い場所も好みます。
自由に移動できるなっているといいですよね。

2. トイレ、食器、水飲み器、爪とぎ用具、おもちゃ、ベッドやくつろげる場所を複数用意して、それぞれ離して設置しよう
- とくに複数頭飼育をする場合は、猫グッズを多めに用意！トイレや食器、水飲み器は少なくとも「飼っている猫の数＋１」個を用意し、それぞれを離して設置する
- トイレは猫の好みに合った形や大きさの容器と砂を用意し、こまめな掃除で清潔に保つ
移動する際にジャマする家具や音が苦手な猫などのために配慮してあげてくださいね。
3. 遊ぶ機会を増やそう
- フードやおもちゃを使って、獲物を捕まえる行動をまねた遊びをさせる
- フードが出るおもちゃや、フードを投げて追いかける・隠して探せる遊びも◎
獲物を捕まえるような遊びが大好き！
猫が遊びたがっている時に相手をしてあげてくださいね。

4. 猫のペースに尊重した有効な信頼関係を築こう
- 猫に構うことはしないで猫のペースや好みのスタイルに合わせたコミュニケーションをとる
声をかけたり遊んだりするのは好きでも、なでられるのは嫌いという猫も多いことに注意 - 嫌がる猫を無理に触るのはNG。なでられるのが好きな場合でも、触る場所や触り方には気を遣う
- つかず離れずのスタンスで接せるのが◎
- 体罰、大声で叱る、大きな音で驚かすなど、猫の恐怖心や攻撃心をアップさせないよう気をつける
猫は自分のペースを大事にします。それに配慮して嫌われない飼い主になりましょう！嫌がることをしないというのも信頼関係に繋がります。つかず離れずのスタンスを。
5.家の中のニオイを配慮しよう！
- ニオイの強い香水、刺激臭のあるスプレーはNG
- 外のニオイを持ち込むことに注意。とくに動物病院や他の猫のニオイには敏感
- ツメとぎは自分のニオイをつけるという意味もある。ツメとぎ用具を用意してあげる
- 猫がよく顔や体をこすりつける場所は、ニオイが残る程度の掃除にとどめる
- 必要に応じて、猫用フォロモン製品（フェリウェイ®︎）を利用することで、猫の安心感をアップさせる
猫の嗅覚は、人の数万倍～数十万倍！トイレはいつも清潔に、アロマや芳香剤などの化学的な香りはNGなので気をつけてくださいね。
