猫の糖尿病のセミナーを受講してみた
「猫も糖尿病ってなるの？」意外と多い猫の糖尿病。
ちょっと前ですが、猫の糖尿病のセミナーに参加しました。
その時に学んだことをまとめました。
その前に猫の糖尿病について調べたので書きます。

そもそも猫って糖尿病になるの？
猫の糖尿病のセミナーが開催されるほど猫は、糖尿病になりやすいの？
10歳以上の猫で1.327％
高齢の猫は、かかりやすいといえます。
遺伝病ではありませんが、遺伝的な傾向もあるそうです。

猫の糖尿病の医療費は、どのくらいかかるの？

年間平均診療費：321,831円
平均診療単価：12,238円＜通院＞
年間平均通院回数：13.4回＜入院＞
年間平均入院費用：114,447円
平均入院費用単価：58,473円※対象：2017年度始期で契約開始した猫100,472頭（0～12歳）アニコム調査
通院も月１回で大変ですし、安くない治療費
糖尿病のことをちゃんと知って予防するのが一番だと思います。
ここからは、糖尿病のセミナーに参加してメモしたことなどを書きます。
糖尿病における３つのゴール
糖尿病はなかなか完治が難しい病気であります。
その場合、どこまでなら許容できるのかというゴールを設定が必要になります。
①ハッピーに過ごす
②多飲多尿などの症状をなくす
③インスリンから離脱させる
③が完治に近い状態です。
最初から完治を目指すととてつもなく遠い道のりに感じてしまいます。
まずは、食欲が安定して元気に苦しまないというのを最初にゴール設定にしてみて
スローステップで次の②を目指すのもいいと思います。
①のハッピーに過ごすは、その猫やご家族の考え方によりますね。
食欲が安定、体重が減らない、元気で昼寝ができるなど愛猫のハッピーをご家族で話し合ってみてください。
どこのゴールを目指しますか？
糖尿病の症状
- 多食
- 体重減少
- 多飲
- 多尿
低血糖になると
- 元気がなくなる
- ふらつく
- ぐったりする
- 痙攣
- 昏睡
- 死
低血糖に備えてガムシロップや砂糖水を常備しておいて飲ませるようにする。
糖尿病の特徴
水をたくさん飲む
多飲の目安
飲水量が
５kgの猫：250ml
３kgの猫：150ml
猫は、あまり水を飲まない動物
明らかに飲水量が多い場合は様子を見ずにすぐに病院で診療を受けるようにしましょう。
血糖値が250mg/dLを超えると尿に糖が出る
食べても痩せていく
食べても痩せる病気としては、糖尿病、甲状腺機能亢進症状、寄生虫、がん
かかとをついて歩く
猫はつま先歩きをしていますが、
糖尿病の猫の場合はペタッとかかとをついて歩くようになります。
インスリンとは
糖尿病の治療でよくきくインスリン
インスリン自体がなくなる糖尿病のパターンがあります。
インスリンとは、血糖値を下げるすい臓で作られるホルモン。
インスリンは、1921年のカナダの研究チームが発見！
最初の患者は犬のマージョリーだったそうです。
その翌年には人への治療も開始された。
糖尿病の合併症
人と犬の場合
網膜症
白内症
腎症
神経障害
動脈硬化
糖尿病は合併症が怖いとよく聞くと思います。
上にあげたように人と犬では上のような合併症があります。
では、猫の場合は？
猫の場合
なんと猫では上のような合併症は起きにくいそうです。
私が調べたところでは、「ケトアシドーシス」という合併症になることがあると書いてありました。
シニア猫に多い病気
（アニコム損害保険調べ）
1.腎臓病
2.糖尿病
3.膀胱炎
4.消化器系疾患
5.心筋症
猫は、６～１３歳で発症されやすいので、シニアの猫の病気と言ってもいいですね。
お家でできること
糖尿病の猫は運動が苦手なのでレーザーポイントで遊ばせてる。
多食予防としてはおやつが出るおもちゃを使って食べさせる。
