実は、猫は急にかみつくわけではないのです。
かみつく前には耳やしっぽなどいろいろな部位で意思表示をしています。
PART１「実はこんな気持ち！」では、そういうボディランゲージをかわいいイラスト付きでとてもわかりやすく説明してくれています。
PART２「可愛いしぐさの理由は？」
お風呂場の水を飲む理由、食事をねだったのに残す理由などが書かれています。
獲物をもってくる理由は、狩りをしていた時の習性で褒めてもらいたいものだと思っていました。
獲物を捕まえることは、猫にとって命にかかわる重大事。狩りができて一人前！
猫にとって飼い主は親のような存在です。
飼い主が狩りをするのを見たことがない猫は、飼い主を子猫のように思っています。
まだ未熟な飼い主を一人前にしてやろうと持ち帰るそうです。
持ち帰るのは、ひん死の獲物。これは飼い主へ「とどめを刺しなさい」という親心らしいです。
すごく迷惑ですが、優しさだったんですね。
PART３「うちのネコだけじゃなかった！」
段ボールが好き、高いところが好きなど猫の習性について書いています。
カーテンに飛びつくのも、おもちゃをじっと見るのも猫にとっては狩りの練習。
猫にとって狩りは本当に大事なことなんですね。
PART４「もっと仲良くなりたい」
なでていて急に噛みつくわけ、お風呂が嫌いな理由など
抱き方なども書かれています。
新聞を読んでいると邪魔をするのは、新聞の傘かさが獲物が歩いている音に聞こえる、注目されたい欲求などいろいろな説があるそうです。
PART５「ネコの種類と柄」
猫の種類の特性が書かれています。
スコティッシュ・フォールド、アメリカン・ショートヘア、マンチカン、ジャパニーズ・ボブテイル、ノルウェージャン・フォレルスト・キャット、ロシアン・ブルー、ラグドール、ペルシャ（チンチラ）、メイン・クーン、ブリティッシュ・ショートケア の特徴を書いています。
column「ネコも肥満は禁物！」
ネコの肥満は、関節炎や心臓、肝臓の病気や糖尿病のリスクも高く、感染症にもかかりやすくなります。
食事制限をして適度な運動も必要。
