【ペットに危険な植物】シクラメン
クリスマスが近くなるとシクラメンが出回ってきますよね。
お家に飾る人も多いのでは？
でも待って、このシクラメン、ペットにとっては危険だったりします。

シクラメンの花言葉
学名：Cyclamen persicum
科・属名：サクラソウ科シクラメン属
原産国：クレタ、ロードス、キプロスの諸島からトルコ、シリア、レバノンなど地中海沿岸
花言葉：
- イギリス：はにかみ・内気な恋
- フランス：過ぎ去った喜び
- 赤色：嫉妬
- ピンク：憧れ・はにかみ
- 紫色：想いが響きあう・絆
- 白色：清純

シクラメンですが、実は毒を持っています。
部位：すべての部分に毒 特に根
有害成分：シクラミン（サポニンの一種）
症状：よだれが大量に出る、嘔吐、下痢、不整脈、けいれんなど
この時期は、お部屋にシクラメンを飾っているお家も多いと思うので、気をつけてくださいね。
※個体差もあり、また、摂取量などによって、すべてのペットが中毒反応を起こすというわけではありません
食べてしまった時の応急処置と治療
1.食べてしまった量と種類の把握
まずはどれくらいの量のどんな植物を食べてしまったのかを把握します。
植物名がわからない場合には犬が草を食べていた場所の写真を撮っておくといいでしょう。
余裕があれば食べた植物を採取しておくこともおすすめします。
2.吐かせる
誤食してしまった時には吐かせたいところですが、吐かせ方がわからない人が無理に吐かせようとして犬の食道を傷めてしまう可能性もあります。
動物病院に行けない場合には電話などで獣医師の指示を仰ぐのがいいかもしれません。
3.症状が出る前に動物病院へ
症状が出てしまっている時には至急動物病院に連絡をして、搬送してください。
まとめ
家の中にもお散歩コースにも、危険な植物がたくさん存在しています。
まずは食べてはいけない植物を知っておきましょう。
なるべく口にさせないように気をつけることはもちろんですが、家の中では手の届く範囲に危険なものを置かないことが大切です。
愛犬を守るために気をつけましょう。
この他に、まだたくさんありますので、少なくとも自分の家にある植物については、一度毒性について調べておくのをおすすめします。
